The city of Le Puy-en-Velay, overhung by the Virgin Mary statue, is one of the departure points of the Via Podensins, that leads the pilgrims to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. Le Puy-en-Velay, that belongs to the Unesco Patrimony since 1998, offers a great patrimonial and architectural wealth, and a few La Chaise-Dieu Festival concerts are organised in some of those beautiful places.
The Church « Saint-Pierre des Carmes » was first built in early 14th century, then restored during 19th century. Each year one or two Festival concerts take place in this church.
The kiosk of the Henri Vinay garden, located in a beautiful 19th century alike park, receives an open air and free concert.
Last but not least, Festival concerts have been programmed in the brand new Le Puy-en-Velay Theatre since year 2007. Built at the end of the 19th century, this Italian-style theatre was recently re-opened after important restoration works.
