To launch into the fifth decade of the Festival, the baroque and classical répertoires of this coming edition will propose a great Purcell cycle, and many concerts dedicated to the masters Bach,
Vivaldi, Haendel and Mozart, but also to other composers, such as Durante, Zelenka, Caldara, Roman, Rigel, Rheinberger,
Cererols, Du Mont…
You will enjoy the same diversity with Romantic, modern and contemporary répertoires : a Beethoven cycle, great russian (Prokofiev, Tchaïkovski) and german (Mahler, Liszt, Bruckner,
Mendelssohn) works, more than thirteen concerts programming recent compositions (for instance works by Thierry Escaich, who will be in La Chaise-Dieu, Tanguy, Campo, etc.).
Concerning the artists, six symphonic orchestras (!) will be invited, and many ensembles will come to La Chaise-Dieu for the very first time, some of them representing the new generation of musicians playing 18th century and earlier répertoire.
The Festival keeps programming great repertoire works, performed by famous artists, but it is still willing to support forgotten répertoires and young talented musicians.
